Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency of hoovering manually. Look for one that offers excellent navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and has a large dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.
You can also find models that mop and charge themselves This feature could be important for people with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests offer decent obstacle-avoiding capabilities.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.
Both robots are proficient in removing dirt and dust particles on carpets and hard floors and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.
iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.
In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. robot vacuum cleaners has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households and can fit perfectly next to a coffee table or on a bookshelf that you can spin around like a magic device.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpets to trap large dust and crumbs. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It is able to quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.
The model also comes with an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments as well as the wand clip. This is a huge improvement over previous Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its short running time. The claims of its marketing that it has up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests show. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's enough time to clean a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second run is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of the most well-known robot vacuums the 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent option for those who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and often goes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own and has physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of home electronics, so it comes as no surprise that they're also one of the top robotic vacuum and mop makers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is loaded with cutting-edge onboard intelligence technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to comprehend and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that can be accessed via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be washed for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that self-empties and helps keep the robot's dustbin clear and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for hard flooring. The robots have an extra wide cleaning path, as well as dust bins that are 2 times larger than other models. This lets them clean the area for a longer period of time. They also include two side sweepers to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which senses the presence of dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also includes a smart application that lets you view the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the battery's status and return it to its dock to charge by pressing one button. The app also allows you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum using different colors, so you can clearly see the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck.
The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot should you need to. My living room rug, for example is darkly colored that can trip up some other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
